The 1417 men in the militia from old Culpeper County (included present day Culpeper, Madison, and Rappahannock) were divided into 104 classes and one man was chosen from each class to serve with the Colonial forces. The men in any one class were usually near neighbors which enhances the value of the information. The appearance of a name in the lists is sometimes taken as proof of patriotic service.
The price of The Culpeper Classes is $8.00 per
copy. There is no postage or handling charge.
